Another source of small amount loans can sometimes be found through local charities

These charities or community groups may provide no interest loan schemes, known as NILS, or low interest loan schemes, known as LILS. These loans may take several weeks for approval and, if you can wait that long and qualify for such a loan, there are also restrictions placed on what and where the loan can be spent, e.g., only on new whitegoods from a certain retail outlet.

If you can meet all of the criteria required to be approved for one of these loans, they can be very financially beneficial to you because, as the names suggest, there is either very low or sometimes no interest charged on these loans.
